Chapter 2:
The Apocalypse Council
In the heart of his fortress, Apocalypse convened his council. The room was filled
with an air of tension as the most powerful mutants gathered. Each one of them was
a force to be reckoned with, but even they could not ignore the gravity of the
situation.
At the head of the table sat Sinister, his eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and
curiosity. Among the council was Dr. Doom, a shadow of his former self, yet his
intellect remained as sharp as ever. Summoned from his position in the Eurasian
Security Council, he had come not out of loyalty, but out of necessity. The threat to
Earth was too great, and he would not sit idly by and leave his fate to others.
Apocalypse, for his part, barely acknowledged Dr. Doom's presence. His focus was
solely on the impending cosmic threat. The rest of the council was made up of other
powerful mutants, each chosen for their unique abilities and unwavering loyalty to
Apocalypse.
"We face a threat unlike any other," Apocalypse began, his voice echoing in the
grand hall. "Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, is coming."
A murmur ran through the council. They had all heard of Galactus, of his insatiable
hunger and the destruction he left in his wake. But hearing it from Apocalypse
himself made it all the more real.
"We must protect our world," Apocalypse continued, his voice firm. "We have faced
countless threats before, and we have always emerged victorious. This will be no
different."
The council discussed the dire situation, each member contributing their thoughts
and strategies. They knew the stakes were high, and failure was not an option. As the
council members deliberated over their strategy, it was Dr. Doom who first brought
up the Infinity Stones. Despite being a shadow of his former self, his intellect and
knowledge of cosmic artifacts were unparalleled.
"The Infinity Stones," he began, his voice echoing in the grand hall. "Artifacts of
immense power. If we could obtain them, we might stand a chance against
Galactus."
A murmur ran through the council. The Infinity Stones were legendary. Each one
controlled an essential aspect of existence: Space, Reality, Power, Soul, Mind, and
Time. The prospect of wielding such power was both thrilling and terrifying.
Apocalypse, ever the opportunist, saw the potential in Dr. Doom's proposal. "The
Space Stone, the Reality Stone, and the Mind Stone," he mused, his gaze sweeping
over the council. "They could be the key to our survival."
And so, the council agreed on their new plan. They would seek out the Infinity
Stones, not just to defend their world, but to fight back against the Devourer of
Worlds.
