Chapter 6:
Deadite Showdown
The Milano had landed on the plagued planet, its landing gear nestled in the ashen
soil. The ship’s ramp lowered with a hiss, revealing the alien landscape to Ash
Williams, Peter Quill (Star-Lord), and Drax.
They stepped out onto the terrain, their weapons at the ready. The air was thick with
an eerie silence, the calm before the storm. The landscape was desolate, a
graveyard waiting for its dead.
Ash’s chainsaw hand idled, the low hum a stark contrast to the unsettling quiet. Peter
and Drax stood alert, their eyes scanning the horizon, their fingers twitching over the
triggers of their blasters.
They moved forward, their boots crunching on the ashen soil. The silence was
deafening, the tension palpable. Every rustle, every whisper of the wind sent
adrenaline coursing through their veins.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled. A low growl echoed around them,
growing louder, closer. Then, all hell broke loose. Deadites erupted from the ground,
their grotesque forms a horrifying sight. Their voices filled the air, a symphony of
threats and madness.
The trio sprang into action. Ash’s chainsaw roared to life, cutting through the
Deadites like a hot knife through butter. Peter’s blasters fired in rapid succession,
each shot finding its mark. Drax, with his brute strength, tore through the possessed
creatures, reducing them to splinters.
“Hey, ugly! Your face could use a makeover!” Ash yelled, his chainsaw severing a
Deadite’s limb.
Drax, ever the literalist, replied, “I do not understand humor.”
Peter, dodging a swipe from a Deadite, called out, “Ash, any bright ideas?”
“Yeah,” Ash grinned, “Let’s make these Deadites a little less headstrong.”
The fight was brutal, a dance of death under the alien sky. But amidst the chaos, Ash
realized something. “We need to find the source of this corruption!” he shouted over
the din of battle.
As the dust settled, they found themselves in a momentary lull, the Deadites
momentarily held at bay. But the real battle was just beginning. The source of the
Deadites’ power was still out there, somewhere on this plagued planet. And they
were determined to find it.
