Drax
Drax the Destroyer, often just called Drax,
is a character from American comic books
published by Marvel Comics and also
appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
(MCU) media franchise.
In the original comics, Drax was once a
human named Arthur Douglas. His family
was killed by the supervillain Thanos. To
combat Thanos, the entity known as
Kronos took Arthur’s spirit and placed it in
a powerful new body, thus creating Drax
the Destroyer.
In the MCU, Drax is played by Dave
Bautista. He is portrayed as a formidable
but not particularly bright warrior who
seeks revenge against Ronan the Accuser,
the individual responsible for his family’s
death. Drax was a member of the
Guardians of the Galaxy and is known for
his superhuman strength, stamina, speed,
reflexes, and his proficiency in
swordsmanship and hand-to-hand
combat. He also shares a close bond with
Mantis, another member of the Guardians.
Drax’s journey of revenge and redemption
makes him a fascinating character in the
Marvel universe.
