John Wick

John Wick, portrayed by Keanu Reeves, is the titular character of the “John Wick” film series. He is introduced as a legendary hitman who is reluctantly drawn back into the criminal underworld after retiring. His journey back into the world of crime begins when Russian-American mobsters assault him, kill his puppy, and steal his car. Born as Jardani Jovonovich, John Wick was once a feared hitman known for his lethal precision and formidable skills. He earned a reputation as one of the world’s deadliest and most skilled professional assassins, feared by many as the Baba Yaga or The Boogeyman. He worked for the Tarasov Mob until his retirement, which was prompted by his desire to live a peaceful life with his wife, Helen Wick. However, the peaceful life he sought was short-lived. After his wife’s death, Wick’s grief was further compounded when Iosef Tarasov, the son of his former employer, killed his dog Daisy—a final gift from his wife. This act of cruelty pulled Wick back into the world he had left, igniting a path of revenge that thrust him back into the violent lifestyle he had left behind.
