Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci, born on April 15, 1452,
in Anchiano, near Vinci, Republic of
Florence, Italy, was an Italian painter,
draftsman, sculptor, architect, and
engineer.
His skill and intelligence epitomized the
Renaissance humanist ideal. His works,
such as “The Last Supper” and “Mona
Lisa”, are among the most widely popular
and influential paintings of the
Renaissance.
His notebooks reveal a spirit of scientific
inquiry and a mechanical inventiveness
that were centuries ahead of their time.
Leonardo’s innovative masterpieces
demonstrate a mastery of light,
perspective, and overall effect. He is
renowned for his ability to observe and
capture nature, scientific phenomena, and
human emotions in all media. Leonardo
da Vinci died on May 2, 1519, in Cloux,
France.
