The Goonies
“The Goonies” is a classic adventure
comedy film from 1985. The story revolves
around a group of young friends living in a
part of Astoria, Oregon called the “Goon
Docks”. Facing the foreclosure of their
homes to make way for a new golf course,
the kids, who call themselves “The
Goonies”, stumble upon an old treasure
map. This map purportedly leads to the
long-lost fortune of a legendary 17th-
century pirate known as “One-Eyed Willy”.
Seeing the treasure as their last chance to
save their homes, the Goonies embark on
an exciting adventure to unearth the
treasure. Along the way, they navigate a
series of booby traps and puzzles, all
while being pursued by a ruthless crime
family known as the “Fratellis”, who are
also after One-Eyed Willy’s treasure.
The film is known for its blend of comedy,
adventure, and camaraderie among the
group of friends. It has since become a
cult classic and is beloved by audiences
of all ages.
