Chapter 7:
The Preparation
With the Ministry's Aurors now reinforcing Hogwarts' defenses, the time had come
for more strategic planning. Harry, Ron, and Hermione, along with other members of
Dumbledore's Army, gathered in the Room of Requirement. The room transformed
itself into a war council chamber, providing maps of the castle, books on dark
creatures, and various magical artifacts that could prove useful.
Harry stood at the head of the table, his expression grave. "We can't just keep
defending," he said. "We need to find a way to close that portal for good."
Hermione nodded, her eyes scanning the texts before her. "The Orb of Osuvox is the
key," she explained. "It's what's keeping the portal open. If we can understand how it
works, we might be able to reverse the process."
The room hummed with the collective focus of the group as they poured over every
piece of information they could find. Neville Longbottom, who had proven his
bravery time and again, examined a series of runes. Luna Lovegood, her belief in the
unbelievable often an asset, suggested possible connections between the creatures
and the Dark Dimension that none had considered.
Ginny Weasley, as fierce as any warrior, practiced spells that they hoped would be
effective against the dark entities. "We need to be prepared for anything," she
declared, her wand casting a bright light in the dim room.
The DA members split into teams, each tasked with a different aspect of the
preparation. One group worked on enhancing protective enchantments around the
castle, while another researched offensive spells that could be more effective
against the creatures.
Fred and George Weasley, ever the inventors, concocted a range of new magical
items designed to disrupt the dark magic emanating from the portal. "These should
give those shadowy blighters a run for their money," Fred said with a grin, despite
the gravity of the situation.
As the preparations continued, Professor McGonagall entered the room, her face
etched with pride at the sight of her students taking such initiative. "We will be
coordinating with the Ministry," she informed them. "But it is clear that you are all
playing a crucial role in this defense."
The preparation was meticulous and thorough. Every spell, every countermeasure,
every piece of knowledge was a thread in the tapestry of their defense. As the day
turned to evening, the Dumbledore’s Army members knew that the battle ahead
would test their limits. But together, they were ready to face whatever the Dark
Dimension might throw at them.
